Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better known by her stage name of Ari Lennox, is an American musician and singer who hails from Washington, D.C., who was the first female to sign with J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. In October 21st, 2016 she debuted Pho, her debut EP for the Dreamville Records label. This was when she began to gain notoriety. Shea Butter Baby released her first studio album 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox first released her music on the internet in 2012. She released her debut album Ariography and her mixtape debut in 2013 the mixtape Five Finger Discount. In 2014, she continued to share her music over the web, including her own released single Bound. She was featured in Omen's Elephant Eyes and on Sweat It Out on July 21, 2015. J. Cole was interested in her talent and wanted to work together with Rihanna. In December 2008, it was announced that Rihanna had been signed by Dreamville Records. Backseat is one of the songs she recorded with Cozz to record the collaboration album Revenge of the Dreamers II. The 21st of October, 2016, the EP Pho debuted. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change as well as performing as part of The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as an opening performance. In 2018 she guest-starred in two of her songs with label-mates EarthGang for Nothing but the Best. And Bas On Icarus. The debut album of Ari Lennox Shea Butter Baby was released on 16 July 2018. The album's first single, called Whipped Cream The album's first single, Whipped Cream came out September 5, 2018 with the music video. Then, in November, she released her singles forty Shades of Choke & Grampa. In November, 13 she dropped two more singles titled No One and Pdigree. Shea Butter Baby is a track she sang alongside Cole on Creed II's soundtrack on 16 November. It was then released as a single on its own in February 2019, to coincide with her debut album. The track was accompanied by the music video which debuted on February 20 2019, and it surpassed the milestone of 3 million views on YouTube in its first seven days. In December of 2018 the singer was a part of the From East Atlanta With Love Tour that featured 6LACK.
